Landmarks

Ok, all you family bloggers out there. I have a fun thing for us to do. Janet, your post about Iowa Hill made me think of this...search for landmarks...post a landmark, or two, or three or however many you want!...take some photos, write a little info about it and we all become enlightened...

Three's

Today I looked for things in three's...this is what I came up with... In a futile attempt to add some curl to my pathetically straight hair, I did use these 3 brushes this morning. and yes, I left them right there. all day.

There ya have it...

Doran Beach

We had a great time on the coast...I took some good shots...don't ya love the date in the corner! I was playing with the camera a few weeks ago...the date function kept flashing, it was bugging me...so I set it to any old thing, and it defaulted to have the date print on the picture...luckily I can crop the date off the prints for my art projects...anyway, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves...

We went for a nature walk...tall grasses, ice plant everywhere...as we made our way down the path, these poppies just "popped" out at us, the only ones in the area...

Can you see the boat in the photo?...we were sitting by the fire drinking coffee one morning, and this boat came through the fog out of nowhere, it was eerie, and beautiful at the same time...reminded us of a pirate ship!

rest here.........

Hittin' the road, retail therapy, and that luscious cup of morning java...

Yes, it is the trailer, but it's not just any picture of the trailer, it's a picture of the trailer UNCOVERED!!! It's coming out from a long winter's nap! Shelb took the cover off Sat. so we can air it out, make sure all things are operational...speaking of which, the batteries are dead. After checking them out, he realized they are goners, so today he is buying 2 new ones...we will be dry camping this weekend, no hookups....so batteries are very, very important! We are going to Bodega Bay on Thursday morning, coming home Sunday afternoon, we can hardly wait! I will be getting in there this evening to clean up the inside, doesn't take long for sure! Thursday morning I will hit the grocery store first thing, then come home and put things right in the trailer. Our good friends, Mickey and Mike are going too, so should be tons of fun...plan on doing some kite flying, bike riding, reading, lots of walks on the beach...we are on the jetty, so the beach is right there! Shelb and Mike are playing golf on Friday. There is a great restaurant on the wharf, we plan on eating there one night, one night the Coopers cook dinner, and one night we cook dinner, works out nicely...
Now, on to other very important matters...Lynn and I needed a little retail therapy, haven't had any for awhile! We went to Folsom on Sat. morning, after a quick stop at Starbucks of course. Then on to DSW for some new...you guessed it, flips! They have brightly colored dots all over the strap, couldn't resist...then we hit Old Navy for some summer tops...and I did find 2...we had a very fun time!
I was thinking this morning about how much I love my morning ritual...and luscious it is!

Resurrection Sunday...what a glorious day!

"...the angel said to the women, "do not be afraid", for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said! Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him..." Matthew 28: 5-7

Easter service this morning was so full of God's spirit and power, it was palpable...

Good Friday

For those of us who have a personal relationship with Jesus, this truly is a good Friday...
"...it was now about the sixth hour, and darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour, for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. Jesus called out with a loud voice, "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit." When he had said this, he breathed his last..."Luke 23: 44-46
Praise be to God that the story doesn't end there...

So, I haven't been posting much...work has been busy, life has been busy, and I have been outdoors alot more, with the exception of today! More rain, still much needed, but spring storms don't stick around very long thank goodness. Aidan had a game scheduled last night, it poured, the game was cancelled. Shelb and I were looking forward to doing something after work, so we went to the WineSmith downtown. I had a luscious glass of buttery chardonnay, and he had a beer. Afterward, we strolled down the street to Cascada, a new cantina on main street. Great food! We shared a quesadilla and a salad...a very nice evening.

first bloom...

When I got in the car to go to work, I looked down the driveway and there it was! The first iris bloom this spring...so I ran in the house, grabbed the digital and took a shot! Looks like there are lots of others ready to open up...they are so beautiful!

Thursday's dinner...

Shelb is away this weekend for Guard drill, so we decided to have our meal splurge last night instead of Friday night...we thoroughly enjoyed every morsel, and drop...
As for me this weekend, I will be at Aidan's game Sat. morning, then plan on getting lots of art work done...have several projects in mind, and will share them with you when I am done.

PLAY BALL!!!

Nothing like spring and baseball! Very dear to my heart, watching my boys play on teams while growing up, now my firstborn grandson! Not sure whether Tyler will enjoy the sport later on as he gets older, but he certainly is a great cheerleader, and I quote...."Way to go, bro bro!!"...
